By booking driving tuition with Simon Andrew Driving Tuition, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
All pupils must hold a signed UK Provisional Driving Licence for Group B cars before training begins.
1. The instructor will provide driving instruction at agreed times and rates. Lesson prices will be clearly explained on the website, during initial contact, and again at the start of the first lesson.
2. Simon Andrew Driving Tuition will always act professionally towards clients. Physical contact will be avoided except in an emergency or as part of a normal greeting. While reserving the right to decline tuition, the instructor will not act in any way that breaches discrimination law or the DVSA Code of Practice for Approved Driving Instructors.
3. All bookings are made on the understanding that Simon Andrew Driving Tuition cannot be held responsible for postponed training due to traffic conditions, adverse weather, illness, or mechanical breakdown. We are also not liable for any costs resulting from lesson postponements for any reason. Please note that your instructor has no control over road conditions, including but not limited to:
1. Road works
2. Traffic jams
3. Road accidents
4. Road closures
and other unexpected delays.
While your instructor has extensive knowledge of local routes, they cannot be held responsible for delays causing lesson overruns or lateness to appointments, including practical driving tests. You will not be charged for any lesson overrun caused in this way.
4. A lesson may be refused if the instructor believes the pupil is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or smells of either. In such cases, the full lesson fee will still be charged. This also applies where alcohol or drugs may still affect you the following day.
5. Instructors will advise pupils when to apply for their theory and practical driving tests. The instructor will not cancel or rearrange a driving test without the pupil's agreement. When presenting a pupil for a practical driving test, the instructor will ensure that the client has the necessary documentation and that the vehicle is roadworthy.
6. Provided the pupil holds a valid driving licence and is accompanied by, or under the direction of, a DVSA ADI, PDI, or approved DVSA examiner, all Simon Andrew Driving Tuition cars are fully insured for tuition and driving tests.
7. On the first lesson, the instructor will check the client's entitlement to drive and their ability to read a number plate at the statutory distance of 20.5 metres, with glasses or contact lenses if required.
8. Pupils must inform their instructor before any lesson of any medication or prescription drugs that may affect their ability to drive safely.
9. Pupils must give a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson to avoid being charged. If you fail to attend an appointment, your instructor will wait at the agreed pick-up point for 10 minutes only. If no cancellation notice is given before the lesson start time, the full lesson fee will be payable. Lessons paid for in advance or with vouchers that are cancelled within 24 hours will also be charged in full.
Any money paid in advance for lessons and not used within 3 months of last contact with Simon Andrew will be forfeited unless a prior arrangement has been made. No refund will be given.
Lessons must be paid for on the day in cash or by bank transfer no later than the day before the lesson.
Any money paid in advance is non-refundable. By booking and paying for lessons, you agree to these terms.
10. The instructor must be notified of the date and time of any driving test booked by the pupil at least 20 working days before the test date. The instructor reserves the right to decline the booking, in which case the pupil will need to arrange another instructor for the test or risk losing the test fee.
11. The instructor will not accept test bookings made through third-party apps or non-DVSA companies. If a booking is made through a third party or non-DVSA company, the instructor may end lessons and allow time for the pupil to find another instructor for the test.
Your instructor will aim to maintain regular lesson slots at the same time each week to support continuity of learning; however, this cannot be guaranteed.
